Since the beginning of March, Torino City Lab and its innovation ecosystem has been in charge of fostering the internationalization of 4 foreign startups selected by BigBooster International Acceleration Program, which started their international acceleration process in November 2020.
The four foreign companies are:
- EVELITY (France), the 1st "wayfinding" solution for people with disabilities. According to recent studies, more than 1 billion people are disabled in the world. Evelity has created an application that allows all these people to be guided, step by step, to their desired destination, according to their profile and abilities.
- AKYAS SANITATION (Jordan), has developed an innovative toilet in the form of a 100% compostable bag. The startup thus offers a sustainable and affordable solution for people without access to water closets and a functioning sewage system. By delivering this climate-friendly sanitation innovation, AKYAS protects vulnerable communities, including those in informal settlements, from health risks related to inadequate sanitation facilities
- RUEDECOLIBRI (France), an innovative startup that has developed clothing specifically for cancer patients. The presence of an implantable chamber under the skin, for example, doesn't always allow for comfort with normal clothing, while Rue de Colibri has created an online clothing boutique that takes into account all possible ailments caused by chemotherapy or other forms of care for cancer patients.
- SGHARTOON (Tunisia), a platform that facilitates the identification and treatment of dyslexia in children by connecting the requesting family with the nearest specialist. Creates a support network for children with learning disabilities to promote their mental, personal and academic growth. A goal also achieved through interactive teaching methods and constant monitoring of the child by a team of medical experts.
Torino City Lab, with some partners, such as 2I3T, Torino Wireless and Environment Park, is supporting these innovative companies by introducing them to the local market, better defining their value proposition and involving them in networking activities with the local innovation ecosystem.
