SPOT Smart Parking On-demand Technology

Parkofon is a smart parking and curbside management platform based on patented IOT technology. It is differentiated by its elimination of outdated and cumbersome roadside equipment and infrastructure such as parking meters and static sensors. Embedded directly inside cars with a low-cost navigation transponder, Parkofon guides drivers to open parking spots, enables automated location-based parking reservations and payment, and informs electric vehicle owners what charging stations are available nearby.

Parkofon, a start up located in USA, is one of the company inserted in the “Techstars Smart Mobility Accelerator", a three-years acceleration program in Smart Mobility domain. Within this program, supported by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Parkofon will improve a testing which consists in analysis of the local context for adaptation of the solution named “SPOT: Smart Parking On-demand Technology”.

In this framework PArkofon will be accompany by 5T - the in house company of The City of Torino for providing info mobility services - as partner of Torino City Lab and also by the local public transport company GTT as an observer. The City of Turin, thorough its Mobility Dpt will observe and evaluate the activities.
